Foreign movies shot in Morocco in 2014 generated $121m | Maghreb Arab Press

Attracting foreign films to shoot in Morocco generated over $121 million for the local economy in 2014:

MAP logoForeign movies shot in Morocco during the year 2014 generated a record sum of 1.17 billion dirhams versus 220.90 million dirhams in 2013, said, on Saturday in Tangiers, director of the Moroccan Cinema Center (CCM) Sarim Fassi Fihri.

Presenting the results of the national cinema for 2014, before the closing of the 16th National Film Fest (FNF), Fassi Fihri said that this good performance is due to Morocco’s political stability compared to other countries in the region, as well as the existence of a real movie industry in terms of human resources, equipment and studios.

Morocco was the scene, in 2014, for the shooting of 38 foreign movies, including 27 feature films and 11 television series, while the number of filming permits granted to foreigners has reached 631, against 661 for Moroccans.
