France reiterates support for Moroccan autonomy plan towards a negotiated solution for the Western Sahara:

MAP logoFrance reiterated its support for the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco as a serious and credible basis for a negotiated solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue, said a joint French-Moroccan statement issued on the occasion of the working visit paid to Morocco by France’s foreign minister Laurent Fabius.

“France reiterated its support for efforts made under the UN aegis to reach a political settlement” for the Sahara issue, said the statement.

France lauded, on this occasion, the resumption of the talks process “following clarifications made during the phone call between King Mohammed VI and UNSG Ban Ki-moon on Jan. 22, 2015,” it added.
