Morocco Breaks Up Cell Allegedly Planning Attacks | The New York Times

Experts often remark on the effectiveness of Morocco’s security forces in protecting against terror attacks. Today, Morocco’s internal security forces announced the arrests of a group of IS sympathizers who were planning attacks:

The_New_York_Times_logoMoroccan authorities announced Tuesday the dismantling of an eight-man group that they say had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group and was planning attacks inside the country.

The Interior Ministry statement said the suspects were arrested in the northern cities of Tangier and Taounate as well as in the towns of Khouribga and Bouznika to the south and were in contact with the radical group based in Iraq and Syria.
