SeeNews Renewables reporter Mariyana Yaneva writes on Morocco’s latest move toward renewable energy development:

The Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (MASEN), French government-funded technological research organisation CEA and technology group Alcen have joined hands in the research and development of solar thermal power.

The three signed on Monday several parallel and complementary partnership agreements.

The Moroccan agency and CEA will establish a research laboratory in Morocco and launch several collaboration and know-how transfer projects. The laboratory will work to develop prototype solar systems and solar power applications with a focus on sustainability, efficiency and integration of solar power in the grid. [full story]
