King Mohammed VI has made engagement with Morocco’s African neighbors one of the country’s principal foreign policy priorities since his ascension to the throne 16 years ago: summarizing his vision for the continent in a speech delivered on the occasion of the first Moroccan-Ivoirian Economic Forum held in February 2014 in Abidjan, the King announced, “… Africa is a great continent. It therefore has to take its destiny in its own hands….”
To mark the one-year anniversary of the US-Africa Leaders Summit (which was held August 4-6 in Washington, DC and featured strong participation from the Moroccan delegation), below is an infographic highlighting the “numbers to know” about Morocco and Africa.
