MAP logoU.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, described as “very comprehensive” and “very positive” his tête-à-tête talks with HM King Mohammed VI, on Wednesday at the Royal reception room of the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech.

“With HM the King we had a very comprehensive and very positive discussion,” the U.S. official told the press, stressing that “President Barack Obama and I are grateful for the quality of relations we have with HM the King, Morocco and the government.”

In this context, Kerry praised the “great cooperation” between Rabat and Washington in terms of the fight against violent extremism and in the field of climate change.

“Morocco has made extraordinary efforts in hosting the 22nd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change,” Kerry said, expressing confidence that this global meeting will be marked by “a strong declaration that reaffirms the Paris Climate Agreement.”..[ORIGINAL STORY, SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED]
