US official highlights Morocco’s sharing spirit with other African countries | MAP

Morocco receives praise for its leadership in Africa – an example of what the US is looking for:

MAP logoDeputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of African Affairs Bisa Williams lauded the spirit of sharing which drives Morocco’s African policy, mainly in terms of religious training and supervision.

“We really appreciate the Moroccan experience in Africa, especially in the Sahel, given that Morocco spared no effort to offer his expertise in the field of fighting violent extremism,” said the US official in a statement to MAP on the sidelines of an international forum in Nouakchott.

The United States highly appreciates the Moroccan initiative to train African imams (religious leaders), notably from western Africa, said Williams, adding that the Moroccan strategy is an example of what we are looking for.
